Mp3 Downloads Rock

I'm looking to download music in MP3 format (mostly classic rock) and have been "shopping" for a service?

Now, What would be the best bang for my buck? a program that gives me so many downloads for a flat rate or as in Launchcast you can download as much as you want, just get charged for music? What about all the free sites? I really do not like the idea of getting music without the artist their due. A whole reason I want to download music because I like the music and appreciates the efforts of the artist, so I do not think it is for me. I think I feel it's like if one day my boss was to stop paying me, however, expect me to continue working because they liked my work. Please do not be too critical of my opinions, I'm new to all this downloading. I just recently got a tape recorder and I'm afraid to use it because I do not know LABELS suitable for downloads

I use iTunes and rarely searched for a song that was not there. I would suggest burning the songs to a disk immediately, but only if a system failure. Also, burning music to a disk that you can rip the songs as MP3.
