Is it safe to download MP3 music on a Mac?

I want to download music that is an MP3 download, but the problem is I have a Mac and not is available on iTunes. So it is safe to download MP3 music for the Mac that I have? The song is: The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny by Lemon Demon. If you see a bunch of Youtube, you can know what it is. It is not available on iTunes for it's a song from the Internet.

If you illegally download copyrighted material that run the same risk of having malicious content as you would on your PC. Is it worth the risk? Only you can answer this.
