Pc Game Downloads Steam

when I buy a game full of steam that I have to wait hours to download or is it faster?

I just baught Left 4 Dead on Steam and I do not know if I'm going to have to wait like 7 hours to download or download it faster because its a whole game …. because it usually takes 3 hours on my pc for a steam demo ….. please help !!!!!!!! !

Full games will take a while, depends heavily on how fast your connection. I DLed counterstrike vent modified 11Mbs like and it took like 4-6 hours.
